Join us at our Christmas Eve service on Dec. 24 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.!

Christ Church meets in the Sellwood neighborhood of Southeast Portland. At Christ Church, we seek to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the city of Portland. As followers of Jesus Christ, we understand our purpose to be three-fold:

We Exist for the Glory of God

It is our great ambition to do all that we do in a way that honors and exalts God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit because of who He is and what He’s done. In light of that purpose, whether it’s singing together on Sunday mornings or being active in our occupations during the week, we strive to live in a way that demonstrates our love for God, our satisfaction in God, our complete dependence upon God, and our joyful obedience to God.

We Exist for the Good of God's People

We understand that, as Christians, we have not been saved to be by ourselves. Instead, God has saved us and brought us into a community of believers in Jesus Christ. As part of this community — the church — we exist to serve, support, and encourage one another in love as we grow spiritually. For this reason, we gather together regularly — both informally in home groups and corporately on Sunday mornings.

We Exist for Christ in the World

It is a wonderful privilege to live in Portland, and it is our ambition to bring the Gospel of peace to the people of our city and beyond. At Christ Church, our purpose includes worship on Sunday morning, but it goes beyond that. We make it our goal to intentionally demonstrate the love of Christ through our actions and faithfully make known the message of the gospel in our city.
